I am still very much here!!!!

Well well well.....I am back!! No i am not dead, I have not fleed the country, I am still very much here! Apologies for the lack of posts and lack of twitters and lack of basically anything to be honest. Yes it is probably the busiest time of the year and I have been ill for almost a month and have done NOTHING!!! Thats a lie, I have made up and sold a few cards, and made up a few bracelet orders but I am extreemly behind!! So after a very bad dose of throat infection and losing my voice, I thought I was back on the mend, that lasted about a week, then I began with the symptoms of Swine Flu...wether i actually had it or not I guess I'll never know, but whatever I had it was a bad dose of something!!! Anyway, I am almost back to my full self, certainly well enough to get back in touch with the world anyway !!! So....bascially I will post all my new bracelets and cards very soon ( i just have to finish making them first!!!!) Cannot imagine how bloody hectic this months going to be....good job I am only in uni 6 hours a week hey!! Anyway, hope you are all well, let me know if you have any orders!!! Hello everyone.....sorry for the lack of posts lately...I have been and still am very,very porrly!! New Orders!!

Above are three of the beautiful new cards that have been made up over the past week and weekend. I have had one Birthday Card request, one Thank you card request and one Happy Anniversary request! As well as this, I have sold two previous made up Birthday cards, so it really has been a huge success this week. I am loving taking orders off people, and take pride in making the card absoloutly perfect for what each customer wants. There is nothing better than seeing the look on the persons face when they recieve their card, or when they send me a lovely email to say it was just what they wanted! That is job satisfaction! I love taking pride in my work and love my work, so please any more orders, keep them coming!! Im on a roll now! :D xxx

New Bracelet!

My boyfriend has gone to Germany so I am left with lots of time on my hands this next week, so any orders...now would be a great time!! Anyway...in my moping and bordem without him...I've been to the garden centre and bought lots of new lovely beads and crafty bits for both my bracelets and my cards...enough to keep me going making them up everyday for a week until he gets back. New "handcrafted" logo !!

Goood afternoon!!! Well to keep with my handcrafted theme, as I am now selling more that just bracelets due to success...I have had to update my logo. Instead of using the proffessional looking clip art images i did last time...I thought i'd have a bash at using Paint. And so I did. My new logo is very handmade (on paint) and I absoloutly love it!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you do too. Please comment and let me know.

Back in rainy old England!!

Hello everyone, after a very busy last few weeks making up loads of cards and jewellery (and selling lots too...thank goodness!) I booked myself a very well deserved last minute holiday to Bulgaria. After arriving back on Saturday in the very early hours, I took 3 days off before getting everything back on track with my business. I must say I have missed running my little boutique and couldn't resist sorting one or two bits out while I was on holiday! How sad! Anyway I am back now oficially and start making up lots more cards tomorrow. I have an order for a Thank you card so will be adding that up tomorrow. Order time!

Got my first order that requested a specific design last week. It was for a sixteen year olds birthday. The mother contacted me to make it up for her daughter. She told me she loved pink colours, but didn't want anything too girly. Yikes i thought!! How can you do pink without being girly!!! Anyway, I got my craft on and came up with this absoloute beauty. It is in my opinion my fave ever! I couldn't part from it! Anyway I recieved a fab email off the girl this morning...

"Thank you soooo much for the bracelet, it is absoloutly beautiful, I am wearing it now. I have a pink outfit for my part tonight so it will match perfectly."

So thank you very much to Danielle and her mum for her order, I am so glad I made you happy. This is what it is all about.

All Things Pretty - My story

Well Hello...Here I am finally getting my blog up and running. After making my website and all my items, I thought "why not blog about it". Anyway for people who are new to my beautiful business...Lets start at the very beginning...(It's a very good place to start) hehe....

My story
... so far!! Well unfortunatly the beginning of my story is not so cherpy and happy. However, I believe that in all lifes evil, there are good things to come from it. I have had to have that theory more so than ever these past few month...
I am a 19 year old student, studying Drama at University. On Easter Sunday my family and I sat down to a beautiful Sunday/Easter lunch, my mum,dad,sister,her friend,my boyfriend,auntys,uncles,grandparents, happy as larry. On easter Monday my Dad died suddenly and unexpectadly,he wasn'it ill, we were left with no explination, his life was took from him at just 49. He left behind, me, my mum and my sister, his brother, his sister, and his identical twin. Life will never be the same for us ever again, and each day is a struggle and everything we do seems like a huge mountain to climb. As hard as it is to say and face after the loss of somebody so incredible and so loved, someone who can NEVER be replaced, Life does have to go on, and staying at home moping does not help anybody. This is one of the hardest lessons I have ever had to learn, and a lesson I thought I would not have to face for a long time. Going out in public is hard at a time like this, and everything you do seems so trivial in comparison to your problems. I decided to make use of the days that i could not face going out. Prehaps I can not face seeing people, but i need to get out of bed and make my day productive. I began making my own bracelets. I found it so relaxing and hugely theraputic. I was feeling so happy again, and was loving what I was doing. One thing lead to another, and they were so gorgeous, I began enquiring about selling them. It began with Ebay, then I got accepted to sell my designs on a beautiful Handcrafted website, www.theorientalmagpie.co.uk, and now I have my own site up and running, I sell my products on artfire,and now my blog is taking shape! I have even now began making and selling cards and wall art aswell. I am loving everything about this. It is giving me a well needed focus in the long summer months before University starts again, and it is giving me back the confidence that is lost at a time like this. I have come to the conclusion these past few months, as hard as it is to face...but Shit happens, there is nothing we can do to turn back time, life has its cruel twists and turns, but rather than sit and mope about, lets make one good thing out of a nightmarish situation. That is what I am doing with my new business. My father would not want me to mope about wasting my summer away, he would want me to do something productive. I would never have started All Things pretty up if my father was here today. I would have spent my summer like every other summer, going out with friends, partying,shopping,sunbathing,going on holiday. I would certainly not stay in and make Jewelerry. But life often changes its path and I can only be so thankful and look at one advantage in this whole situation...I have found something I really love doing, and I thank my dad every day for that. I would rather have you back in an instant...but life cannot let that happen, so for now, I am happy doing my Jewellery and crafts. Hope you like it. :-)
